Receiving shared locates

On the Partner plan you do not call in locates. A contractor shares their project with you and it appears on your crews' phones, complete, grouped under the contractor's name.

How the two companies get linked

Nobody on Dig Window can see a list of other customers. A link exists only when both sides agree to it, and it works like this:

  1. The contractor opens their Partners tab and clicks Invite a partner, entering the email address of one of your coordinators (the address you sign in to the office app with). Nothing about their company is visible to you yet, and they still cannot see yours.
  2. You open your own Partners tab. The invitation waits under Invitations for you. Click Accept.
  3. From that moment each company sees only the other's name, and yours appears under Shared with on the contractor's projects and tickets. They tick your name on a project and it is on your phones.

Either side can end the link at any time from the Partners tab; the shared tickets leave your phones at the next sync.

What to ask the contractor for

Send them this: "We are on Dig Window. Please invite coordinator@yourcompany.ca from your Partners tab, then share the project with us." Tell them which email you used, because the invitation is matched to it exactly.

What your crew sees

The field app opens on a Projects list grouped by who gave you the job. Pick the project, see the map, open a ticket, read the package. Everything is cached on the phone.

What Partner does not do

It receives only. It does not request locates, does not read One Call emails, and cannot re-share what it was given. You never see the contractor's other tickets, and they never see anything of yours. If you start calling in your own locates, move to Mini or Tracker under Company, Billing, or email support and we will change it for you.
